JT!
For trials i'd say it looks a bit over the top.

Tomm
I would never buy an expensive lightweight helmet for trials. You'll break it too easily IMO.

Dave Anscombe
My friend uses one for xc.....its stupidly light weight.......and whats some one saying that it will die under trials use.....specialized are at the top of the game for testing their lids under all sorts of conditions...think you will find specialized make the strongest cycle helmets in the world pal...the lid its self is pretty big and rather ugly looking to be honnest ive tried them on they just look to big.....sooo dam comffy though.id recomend somthing like a giro xen....or maybe even the giro e2 as its in the same price range and is a more popular helmet for trials usedave x
Tomm
I dunno about you, but I've hit my head a few loads of times. Just small knocks but probably enough to kill a super-lightweight helmet. Plus I throw my helmet about and don't take particularly good care of it. I know I shouldn't but meh, I'd rather have that extra bit of polystyrene so it will stand up to a bit of abuse.
Dan_Trials
XC helmets are designed to absorb and dissipate the forces from an impact that an XC rider would experience, which tends to be going forewords (unless crabs ride XC bikes?). In trials you tend to fall vertically and can hit your head in all sorts of directions. I agree with you that Specialized make some of the best and safest products available, but that doesn't mean they are suited to Trials also. Rusevelt
Considering that this lid is geared towards competition xc riding because your less likely to slam this lid than riding trials, its not worth the money. and i remember seeing a piss-pot lid from Gusset which is just as light and costs less (cant remember the product name). best wait till january 08 sales.
