The Drum And Bass Thread!

Recommended Posts

To start off i know some people will say "There is already a music thread" but I think that is stupid because there are so many different types of music so i have created this topic specifically for drum and bass. I have noticed recently that there is quiet a large fan bass on the forum and i hope that they will get involed in this topic.

At the moment my favourate CD is "DRUM AND BASS ARENA PRESENTS DJ HYPE", This is an excellent album and i would highly recommend it. I have a few other CD's but non have matched up to this one, this being the case i would be very interested to here other peoples CD recommendations. :)

That drum and bass arena cd is ok, there are better ones though.

like si-man said the d&b arena is ok but there is better

my favourite tune on the cd is Chase & Status hurt you, beast off a tune it is quite mellow and not as heavey as all the other tracks, that is the reason i like it :P

Each to their own really, i can see people not liking them due to the way they've sort of exploited true drum and base. I love them purely because i think the tunes are wikid, and when proper DNB dj's do a mix it can come out a treat.

Im a bit of a sucker for the oldschool, and i like to listen to unheard of DJ's, calibre are good, just cant find a cd of them anywhere!

Drum and bass is the best all time music possibly. I'm a big fan of it, and pendulum are fantastic. The best D&B cd i have is "ultimate drum and bass collection". 6 cd's of pure D&B.

Are you kidding me? I have those CD's, it's crap!

There's about 2 tracks on the whole 6 cd comp that are listenable.

The tracks on there are FAR too slow, which is fine if you're gonna mix them yourself...

For those that like Old skool DnB, look up Moving Shadow's back catalogue, most are like £1.99 as they aren't a huge label like emi or whatever. Avoid these Drum & Bass Arena CD's, any of the commercial ones are usually crap, like Ministry of Sound's annuals they are full of cheese. "Extreme clubland hardcore mega euphoria part 132" and such like just have euro-pop remixes of Steps & S Club 7...

Each to their own, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole myself.
