Tom3bar
Hello all,How's everyone doing? First things first, who saw the new film BEE MOVIE ??? (i saw it- it's great !!! highly recommend it )And my prob is:I have a Hope mono front 160mm.Aligned pretty good i think, but sometimes (when i center it and sometimes between rids) the caliper itself rubs in the wheel spokes! The brake is just not strong enough, maybe it's bcs the 160mm rotor, or i just didn't center it good enough (as above i have issues centering it bcs it's rubbing the damn spokes!!)Any help would be a bless Thank you in advance,Tom Bar. JT!
It's probably more down to how the wheel is built than the hope mono trial.A few pics of the wheel at different angles would help a lot.As for the lack of strength, it could be a number of things. Disc brakes are very temprimental, if you hadle the disc with your hands you can get tiny amounts grease on the rotor which can effect it's breaking power. Maybe after you get the wheel problem solved, maybe new pads and give the rotor and very good wash would help a lot.If your running 160mm rotor on a stock, i'd probably find that not powerful enough even when the brakes was working as it's best. Maybe a bigger rotor would solve both your problems as the disc caliper would be 2cm further out. Edited December 20, 2007 by JT!
