liam-pantera
if your bb is square taper the easy thing to do is cut the axel off thats the only thing i could sujest unless you hammer the crank further onto the bb which would release some preasure on the bolt . dave85
Are you sure the drill is sharp? When in doubt go and buy a new one if you don't know how to sharpen them.
Henrik Y
Sharp drills is a must if you are hand drilling. Because you cant push hard enough.
fyfey
Silly question... you sure it's a steel bit? Other bits that might look similar will do nowt.
will
Is the drill rotating in the correct direction
psycholist
Most crank bolts are hardened steel, so a lot of drill bits, even those rated for steel, will take a long time to cut into them. Put oil or cutting compound into the hole as you drill to stop the drill bit overheating and losing it's edge. I cracked an easyout trying to get a crank bolt out of a set of DMR chieftans, so if the bolt is properly seized there's no guarantee easy outs will work. Sawing the BB axle or the crank (Depending what you want to keep) may be your only option.
Charlie Jennings
I had the opposite problem with my cranks. At one point I was polyfillering them on

dave85
If it really is stuck, take it to a garage (the dodgy back street ones will probably be the best) and get them to use their oxy-acetylene burning gear on it. Some heat will soften it enough to drill. If that doesnt work then the bolt can be burnt completely out (with no damage to the axle).
