JonMack
Yo I searched and found a bit about them but not much, Kennard wrote that it voids the warranty and not to do it, but then later on in the post he says you should do it, so can anyone say wether or not they do break the Echo cylinders, and if they do, how long do they last?Cheers. Charlie Jennings
Hello Jon. I've heard that it does void the warranty and the cylinders break.**Not from personal experience Edited December 15, 2007 by iCharlie

I was told that they did. Try reading it again. When has a BB7 been the cause of a set of forks snapping? I'm sure it could have helped them snap.If the pads dont break the pistons then why would it be in the warranty not to use them? JonMack
Thanks for the "I've heard" answer Charles, but I was asking for a definite answer, hence the "Can anyone give a definite answer" title.
Phatmike
to be honest, it'd probably start leaking from several places long before the cylinders snap...

Janson
I think the whole "if make use of other brand backing make for the brake do the snap" deal is going to mysteriously disappear as soon as Deng gets his arse in to gear and mills some backings himself... Grant Hundley
by the way.. fat mike had cnc backings used on a dengura and it leaked at the cylinders.. might have caused it?
Ash-Kennard
it does void the warrentythey broke my maggie cylinders, but these are machined from a solid aluminium billet so will be stronger, but may splay the prongs over time as they will bend and not snap off unlike magura cylinders.so yeah, you may aswell use them.
