Links or actual places to buy would be amazing...ThanksBongo
br3n
all ipods have the same "dock" or input/output cable (other than the shuffle) so anything designed for an ipod (by apple or other) will be suitable.

Tomm
iTrips are OK, but they're quite expensive. I got on off ebay that runs off the cigarette liight and it'll charge the iPod, all for a low low price of a tenner. The whole idea is rubbish though (including the 'official' ones), lots of crackles and retuning the radio all the time. Get a wire if at all possible, much better. Had it for about a year I think, maybe just under and it was about £25.00 and it's great. You can save the radio station on your headunit and your away. Who needs wires! Tomm
It depends if you can find a frequency that doesn't have any other stations on it. E.g. I can use 88.0 driving around Manchester and I never get interference. But going driving on the motorway, the radio stations change every few minutes and I get interference and have to retune. Then again, maybe my cheap one isn't as good as proper one in terms of signal strength.
MadManMike
I never had retune problems with mine, but then again I never use it on a motorway, just between local towns...
Tom Booth
Aren't they 'illegal' aswell? due to you brodcasting your own radio programming without the proper rights and what not?I know it'd be neigh on impossible for anyone else to piick it up, seeing as they have like a 5mm broadcast area and what not, but I was just curious.... Janson
Dunno about the UK, but the laws got changed in Sweden. I think it was last year. Before that, you had to have a radio broadcasting license to use an iTrip or similar device. Now however, it's fine. Simpson
I prefer the cassette thingys if your using it in the car, just becuase you dont have to tune it in or anything and its not confussing, my mates have various ones and they all seem to be a pain in the ass. (im not really speaking out of exp. cos my car has a Aux socket) the cassettes can be like 50 as well
minitrialer
My mate picked up when he was driving behind me, but obviously as soon as I was a few meters in front he lost it. If it is illegal it's obviously one of those laws which they never follow up, seen as how they are sold everywhere. But yer, even on motorways I don't get any trouble! I recommend them, never have to use CD's again, only a minute ago was I making a playlist on my ipod for when I drive home from uni! (Thats how boring it is being in halls on your own ! )

BONGO
ok thanks for the info guys. so it's narrowed down to the belkin transmitter, and the Griffin itrip.Has anyone had experience with both to compare them?? They are the same price, so which one should i go for....
MadManMike
The Griffin has been awesome for me, the Belkin is a trusted brand and that same price so in all honesty I would have thought they'd be about the same. Go for whichever one you think looks better
JoeM
We've had both and i found that the iTrip was better, because it fits into the bottom of the ipod, not just hang from it. Thus meaning that you can use a phone holder on the dash to hold it in place without it falling out. Also if you use 88.9fm or 89.8fm it like never gets distorted even on the m25 and in some cities. BONGO
ended up getting the Belkim as it plugs into the headphone socket leaving the main connection free for the car charger i bought him too.I could have bought an all in one thing with the charger as well, but now it's 2 presents rather than one! Plus, the guy gave me both for £15 instead of the £39.99 it should be!!!
