2 Wee Problems....

Right,

1. My left maggie cylinder on the rear keeps on slipping, even when the bolts are tightened right up, ive checked theplastic ring in there, cleaned the actual maggie ( so theres no loose paint, grease etc there) the mounts aren't threaded, the plastic bits make no difference and yes they are tight.....why?!

2. My rear wheel slips sideways in the droputs, almost dropping out of the frame occasionally, im sure its the qr skewer, but is there anything i can do about it short of replacing the skewer? is there anyway to convert QR to bolt through?

1) the plastic sleeve is probably rather worn...try wrapping some tape around the plastic sleeve and repositioning the slave as normal. The extra padding might help to grip and will stop the slave slipping back into the groove you've made..can also buy a new sleeve (Y)

2) some QR are better than others- people seem to get on well with the budget shimano stuff though which won't see you broke..also, what hub are you running? do you use tensioners? on alot of hubs you can tap an M6 thread into the axle and use bolts...

Right...im going to try the shimano QR tonight...

Im using 4 bolt maggie mounts, and the bolts are definitely long enough.....the maggies go sideways when i land....as in the wheel drags them forwards in their mounts...

I think ive fixed both now...but ill call in on this topiuc if i get stuck...thanks for suggestions everyone!
