Charlie Jennings
I need to open a DLL file to change a port to 'open' but don't know how.I'm on Diablo II open Battlenet, and "failed to join game" is a message people are seeing and I don't know how to set it to allow them to join the game..A port is to do with a firewall or a network. not a .dll file! HAHA!you need to access your router and enable a port that way.Google: "enabling ports on a <what ever modem/router you have> router"
anzo
Could be a firewall issue also; make sure you're not running two firewalls as they can conflict (XP has a built in firewall - turned on by default) and Norton or whatever anti-virus software you use will also have one.You may also need to configure your firewall to allow exceptions for the program you're using. But if you're sure its a port issue; see above post
Charlie Jennings
I've found my 'Port' on the router it says Value='2001' ...Well. You need to enable 2001
Gavyn.
Yeah, first thought was wordpad, but it comes up with squiggles and squares and stuff That will be the code that the file contains. as for opening and using the file I can't really help you, but make sure you don't edit any of the stuff written in the file in wordpad unless you know what you're doing, or you won't be able to use it. Danny
http://portforward.com/routers.htm - Select your router and game and it will tell you what to do.
