We want to do the usual drinking/clubbing/beach thing, but the importance is that the drinking age is 16. anzo Posted December 10, 2007 Report Share Posted December 10, 2007 (edited) You still have to be 18 in Spain....though they laws are very relaxed because people don't tend to be dickheads when they have a drink...unlike Britain.As I said, the law is relaxed; but they can sometimes be strict with British tourists (depending where you go)....just don't expect to get into clubs if you look like a 12 year old.The only places with drinking limits as low as you are expecting are places which you don't really want to visit (unless you're in your 40s or so)....Portugal being an exception perhaps.In Spain they will probably serve you a couple...but once you appear to be pissed out your tree they'll stop; afterall they don't want the death of a British tourist on their hands....it'll be a media frenzy.The 16 drinking age is a very common misconception; most pubs being more strict than you may think...Edit: Also, do you have to be with someone over 18 when travelling abroad? Personally mate I'd wait 2 years and go on a huge crawl around Tenerife...thats where I'm off to in 48 hours. granty Posted December 10, 2007 Report Share Posted December 10, 2007 Go to Magaluf its bloody amazin me and my mates went there for 2 weeks there are so many pubs and clubs. just in one road theres 97 pubs/clubs and a pint is 2 euros and they give you a free shot with that. Yeah and the drinking age is 16, never had such a good time in all my life, definitely recommend it! Class Clown Posted December 15, 2007 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 (edited) Spain one massive week piss up best time of my life + the hottest taned birds !!! lolgot to go near the coast though Ps what i did was go round with uncal to the pubs and clubs that i was going to go into that week and introduce myself a bit get to know them and they was happy to serve me and i was 17 so yer they are pretty laid back but dont f**k with the police over there harsh b******s.
