Smallville
Is there any way to make a Hope Pro 2 front hub "bolt on" instead of quickrelease?

Ali C
the hub doesnt have a conventional axle, it only has two end caps that support the bearing, when you do up your quick release that acts as the axle. Its a weight saving design.if you put bolts in, the wheel would wobble all over the shop in your forks (plus the end caps would just spin with the bolt as you tightened it. The Duck
I use one, and it works fine for me.
psycholist
I've run skewers like this on my trials bike for years with no problems. Make sure you get ones with a 5mm allen key head though. 4mm head ones can't be done up tightly enough to keep the wheel on without rounding the bolt head. JonMack
Ali meant if you tap the "axle" and try and use bolts it wouldnt work. The allen key skewer would work fine.
Matthew_Gibson
I heard on Section 7 or here that it could be done, Thats how long ago it was. 3-4 years agoBut yeah there nothing rong with quick releses. Do them up tight enough and make sure, (if its hope) You push it all the way back in. If you get me??

N Roach
I thinks its possible, if you tap a thread into the hole.

N.Wood
TO SUM UP:Its not possible to tap a thread into each end and use a bolt, as Ali said they just have axle ends rather than solid axle.It is possible to use a bolt on skewer if you like. Smallville
The bolt on skewer is nearly the same as a quickrelease. I was more thinking of a real bolt, but as Ali said it seams hard to do. On the other hand my father got all the machines at work to be able to do an axel. So the quickrelease and the 20mm version is the same hub but with diffrent endcaps?
