Sorry!

Basically, I haven't rode properly for months, I just can't seem to get motivated at all, and whenever I can riding, I'm always doing something.

I always had loads of fun booming about on my mates little GU, so I think I'm gonna get me a mod for a while. I'm lanky as I don't know what, so I'm thinking I'm gonna need something long. The longest mods I've found are...

Python

KO-bikes

A3

Would anyone recommend one over the other?

I'm hopefully gonna start this in the new year sometime, probably from second hand bits apart from the frame, unless I find the frame I want second hand! Hopefully I'll be able to recycle my...

Cranks/BB (Echo 170s/128 Square)

203 BB7

Bars (Old ZOO!s)

So, tallying all that up, how much do you reckon I'm looking at for a decent specced mod? Should go FFW/fixed rear or get a Profile?

Cheers for any help in advance. I can't wait to get out riding again!

An a3 doesn't feel long, it actually feels quite cramped compared to my gu (which is odd) the KO doesn't feel all that long either, I would go for an old style echo team, the python or a zona.

I built my bike second hand off here for about 350-400 that was for long 06 Gu frame, XTP rear wheel, magura, try-all, front disk, ko bike forks, monty stem, onza carbon bars, Eno, and some echo forged cranks already had bb headset and some other bit's. so just hunt around for a bargain

The Zona Zip is the longest Mod I think. Mine had a 1065mm WB with Onza forks, and 1045 with Echo Lites.

It was really nice, I loved it, I just wanted to ride more natty and it was too long and heavy for it.

When I say heavy, they aren't terribly heavy, the frame is about 2.3kg, my Echo Lite is 1.9kg. If you got a decent spec it would be that heavy.

Best street frame I have ever ridden.

i used to ride an a3.....nicest mod i've ever ridden, make sure you get the ti stem and zoo bars and you'll love it.

it won't feel like a barge, which is what my zona felt like, mates python rode pretty much the same as the a3...

it'll probably end up on the bar and stem setup you choose that will determine how it feels.

So, its either the Zona, Python, or what about the '08 Typhoon? I love that frame, but I'd never get the stock one (eurgh geo) Judging by the geo given on Tarty, would that possibly feel long? Depending on my stem setup?

Reeto! Cheers for that. I've always loved the look of the Ko's. Theyre the same geo more or less as the pythons, are they not?

Ko has shorter stays, meaning back wheel will fly out beneath you, but if you want it super super flicky, get Ko, if you all round nice strret beast, get a python. (Y)

The longest mod i know is the magellan tucana, you can get it cheaper than any other frames out there. The only thing what you have to pay is the shipment from hungary. Take a look at it: http://ebike.hu/termekek/vaz/mtb/trial/3607

103 GBP

almost 1060wb if im correct...

1060 sounds a bit much for a mod I think! I'm probably gonna go for either the Ko KM-1 or the '08 Typhoon, once people have established how well it rides.
