Jamie_Neal
Bargain - well worth the money for anyone getting into trials. Also you wouldn't want anything hugely long if you're getting into it as I guess either you'll be younger and therefore smaller or you'll be used to riding 'normal' bikes and won't want anything that is vastly different from what you're used to.I remember the first time I tried riding a trials bike (either a Cannondale Ashton or a Giant Hawes I can't remember which was first) and not liking the feel of it at all.Jamie
steve@banbury-trials
alot of people cant afford to start on 1ks worth of bikehas anyone had the privalage to start riding on their personal £1000+ bike? i very much doubt it,for a start when i started trials i knew maguras where ideal brakes but that was almost it ;so i went and bought a sarecen mad, learnt the basics and invested in new parts till i did have a £1k plus bike .dont forget people that everyone starts as a novice and need a gentle push in the right direction, hence these bikes made by onza.steve
Krisboats
The cleaner frame looks quite nice in reality, despite what i initially thought of it in the pictures i changed my mind when i saw it in the flesh. They're beginner bikes... whats the problem? If they came as frame only i'd be very inclined to look at picking up a cleaner frame as i know it'd be fairly priced, long lasting and with a good warranty/breakage scheme. Surely thats something new riders want? The amount of parts i broke when i started was ridiculous, now i've gotten better and have better parts they don't break as much. If your continuously breaking parts its better to have a half price replacement policy than have to splash out full price again.has anyone had the privalage to start riding on their personal £1000+ bike? i very much doubt it,for a start when i started trials i knew maguras where ideal brakes but that was almost it ;so i went and bought a sarecen mad, learnt the basics and invested in new parts till i did have a £1k plus bike .dont forget people that everyone starts as a novice and need a gentle push in the right direction, hence these bikes made by onza.steveI know someone who started riding on a monty, then before he could pedal hop had it changed to a fresh products 24" frame with kings everywhere. JonMack
I know someone who started riding on a monty, then before he could pedal hop had it changed to a fresh products 24" frame with kings everywhere. That's the exception to the rule though. More money than sense.I think the bikes are well priced, well specced, and are gonna get more people into riding stock. Everyone hated on the T-Raptor so I think now it's had a name, colour, and probably a slight geo change, it is gonna be a much better bike. I really like the single speed idea too, that's excellent. I think that the T-rex's graphics were out dated and I'm glad that they've had a complete make over. They're now really nice looking bikes and I personally probably wouldnt mind riding one. I think it's an excellent move on Onzas part to re-vamp the lineup, and at the end of the day they still have the Limey as the very top end frame, well played. robster
Just seen em in Air Vally in Keighley, they look good to me (I know nowt) If I hadn't stumbled onto my Equip 26", I for one would have one as they are bloody good value and look pretty bomb proof. They look like the bike all you young uns should be getting your dads to buy, get them into it and I will have some old gits to ride against next year in the over 30's class. It looks like the Focus of the bike trial world, cheap reliable and does every thing it says on the tin.JP
Caleb
that hitman is a bloody bargain, get a decent rear set of callipers on the back and some upgraded pads on the front, reove gears and get some maxxis tyres on, would cost like £40 min, and it would ride a belter.seems like onza have changed everything that was wrong with the original frame, headtube- lack of internal headsetsmonococque like down tube- extra strength less snapped t-rexes'vee mounts- for this vee phase everyones going throughpainted frame- cause everyone was moaning about the long low silver flooding the market.they've basically done what everyone wanted for good money. Mike W
It is obviously gunna be good because its onza so stop whinging !
LauraPalmer
what a great deal for starters! when i started with trials (lots of years ago), i would have started to believe in god, if there were such cheap bikes with such a geo... Fishy
Are you using the same rear hubs that are on the zoot?
Ash-Kennard
why couldn't you have used that immese blue colour that was on the proto, that was shit hot and made the bike look 10x better IMO. It should also have riser bars on i reckon and some decent cranks.other than that, it looks alright actually.
basher
So many people bum deng i think they forget other makes are actually good, what is peoples problems with onza. They do great beginner bikes that half the comunity started on and people still rip them just because half the time they donr agree with the colour or something as silly as that. As well as doing great beginner bikes they do top class parts and frames like the limey and the trex and the tensile range.
basher
What about the Onza Dual, or those 3 mod frames that where on here a while back??Believe one of them is going to come out, but there again i think they have been through shit loads of protos. But i believe at some point they are going to be bringing one out, should be a beast i think as its not been rushed and obviously had loads of thought put into it. matt rushton
the pics dont realy do the stikers on the bikes justice, they have quite a cool like shadow afect on them, (i thought it looked cool anyway!) and as for the frame, well yes it is the same geo of the old t rex, but its been put on a diet, i dont know numbers myself, but the cleaner frame is definatly a lot lighter, and as for colour, well no matter what colour a bike is put in there is allways gonna be someone that dosent like it, maybe a choice of colours would be a good move.also i think it's good to see a range of complete bike's. it makes it much easyier for new people to start the sport.robWhite Black Grey and White?? and simple graphics?? can't really go wrong. Some people may say that it's boring but more people will like them. Also are the frames as strong as the T-rexs?? I know you said there lighter. Ash-Trials
Only thing i dont like is the grip shift.Other than that i think it is quite a good bike
Captain Scarlet
I think that they look brilliant, and give some good starter options for anyone looking to start trials. The one bad point in my opinion is the gripshift, but Onza knows whats best.I saw them in the new catalogue at work, but what about the sexy black mod frame that is in the backround of the booklet/catalogue?, is that ever going to be released. walker
Dam right, These are production bikes. For the less skilled rider out there to go into any shop in the country, to show Joe blogs that he can have ago. People who are say Onza are shit are more then likely sat on a bike thats cost them over a grand, do you think we are incapable of making them sort of bikes? We can and will next year with our pro series. Let me tell you this though, Do you really think you sell many bikes when you price them up a £1200? rant over. sorry for lowering my self.I've never disliked onza, my first proper trials bike was a T-pro (going back 5 or 6 years now) and its still around now, they're strong bikes and ideal for beginners. However, in recent years I've also been impressed with their higher end bikes and components. There was i time when i didnt like the onza name because it came with the association of beginners, but with the Limey and components such as the carbon fibre bars, their name has become more reputable in my opinion. They have always been keen on prototyping now ideas, which unfortunately, few see the market. I am looking forward to the Pro series coming out, and ive got high expectations, so dont let me down! I also think we should all show more patriotism, buy British!Andrew
Ash-Trials
Yeah, i ride a T-Pro now and its mint.Love the frame and how it rides, and i think Onza are a decent brand, as Ive said if it didnt have the grip shift id like it more, but when your just starting out it wouldn't bother you. Has anyone seen my shoe?
Everyone bitched about the colours before and is now bitching about them again.Whatever people say, that price for the hitman is awesome and I genuinely like both of them.Good work onza! N.Wood
About the gripshift, its the only sensible way of doing it.They've put gears on there so kids who are just testing the water can get to/from places, and buyers arn't put off with it only having one gear.Gripshift is 100 times better than Rapidfire on trials bikes, due to the whole dead/bruised thigh syndrome. You can cut down gripshift and run it inboard of the brake levers if you're really fussed, or cut it down and run a full length grip. Alex Dark
The cleaner and the hitman are awesomely specced bikes for the money...I started off on a 1015 WB Trek 820 with rst forks, and triple c.set...i would have loved to get one of those beasts....and even now id quite like one! They have to be the best budget bikes out there......well done Onza! trials_pimp
Seems alright for all you daddies boys to critisize these bikes, you got your bikes paid for.Look out on the trials specific Market today and tell me what £500 will get you? A frame, maybe some forks. Now think about whole 26" bikes made for trials.MAD/PhaseOnzaNow whos going to spend tons of money trying out a sport they may not like.Budget bikes play an extreemly important role in promoting the sport of trials to everyone, not just the rich kids. When I started the ONLY trials frame was the Ashton Beast of the East, and it was £800Trials will nevr grow unless it becomes more available. Onza and MAD and sticking their arses on the line by bringing out bikes, made for a sport that destroys them, at low prices. Its nothing like Raliegh, they bought out 1 trials frame, and it was about £700, and very limited.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I do like the idea of re-relasing the T-raptor with the problem area strenthened. They were very popular a while back
