tipsy Jock
Right then, little help needed guys. I'm trying to take apart my king hub so that I can give it a bit of a service. For some reason I can't get the freewheel to come out? I've taken off the funbolts, taken off the bearing preload adjuster and pulled out the axle. The manual says that the freewheel should now pull out of the hub shell? I've done this before with no problems but i'm stumped! What have I missed? Al_Fel
Pull harder and try a twisting motion. Thats the only advice I can offer.
Mike W
Pull and turn anti clockwise.if this doesnt work bash it with something carfully.
Shaun H
Put the axle back in and the cassette lockring. Then gently tap the other axle end with a mallet/hammer/bashing impliment whilst pulling with free hand and, as said before, with an anti-clockwise twisting motion.Although to be honest, it should come out without resorting to anything but pulling and twisting... tipsy Jock
Thanks guys! It came off eventually with some serious pulling and twisting. Guess it hasn't been serviced for a while so maybe it was just seized slightly. All good now though
