Rich Pearson
electrormartJust browsing around for a new camera and came across this place. Had a little peruse of their stock and noticed something interesting. On the products page that link takes you to, have a look at the item five rows down in the middle. Its apparently a PANASONIC NV-GS230EB-S MINI DV DIGITAL CAMCORDER, with an RRP of, thats right £0.00.I naturally think (a la boon and the morrisons/heineken fiasco...) that someones made a clerical error and am all at the ready to exploit, so start entering my card details, going through all the pages to get to the checkout (total cost still says £0.00), when I realise; every page I've been through states that there are secure and non-secure items on the page. Which is quite scary when you notice that on the same page are the fields you've just entered your card details on...Anyone reckon they can shed some light? Innocent mistake or very clever scam?Rich
Krisboats
Must be good, if we click your link it comes up with 2 items in the basket and remembers our address..... when i say "our" address, i mean its done it for me but its typed in yours..... Luckily it erased your card details. Just a shame i don't live on portland street or i wouldn't have had to re-type it myself.f**k it, i'll have a bash with it using my paypal account lol

MadManMike
If it's anything like my old shop, address and name are not securely held, but stored to a Basket ID on a local server - hence we can see what's in your Basket as the link you gave us had your basket ID in.The card details would be secure and sent to a secure server like Protx or similar.Seems ok to me mate, but use a credit card and you can claim your money back if it goes wrong. Krisboats
Okay, when it gets to the paypal page it doesn't have an item, it just describes it as:Item Unit Price Qty Total ElectrorMart.com £0.00 1 £0.01 Paypal also won't accept that it costs £0.00.EDIT: Seems the final cost price box is an editable field ... i can just type my own price in. N.Wood
I'd hope that those sites didn't effectively publish my details for everyone else to see!I realise they all keep my details, but only THEY can see them, not the rest of the world. They said they will refund me the postage amount though so unfortunately this time... we can't get a free camera Patt says hello, because he's gay Edited November 30, 2007 by Krisboats
MadManMike
I mean the link you gave had "osCsid=2e1838202f53da6ed347f171441f85b1" on the end, that's a unique ID that is yours, or whoever clicks on it and updates it.
