craigjames
i've had a new one on the front for about a montha dna b it now, running a 185mm rotor and a oddysey slic cable. good performance, not as solid as the rear to the point the calliper visibly flexes as you pull on the lever. i work in a bike shop and none of us can work out what the hell is causing it, apart form the fact avid have removed a lot more material from the calliper and maybe weakened it??to be honest im wanting an old one now, my rear one feels rock solid; shame it doesnt look as pretty as the new front one craig
Waddy
from what iv been told the new ones are just bolted together, whereas the old ones were welded or bonded together and bolted so alot stiffer
Alex@Flawless Bikes
I always thought the new ones were not as good as the old ones, but my mates 203mm new bb7 has just bedded in and it is a beast! It has already started to snap spokes so yer they are good.

liam-pantera
hi i have one of the new bb7's and at first it seemed realy poor and flexy , but after a while of riding on it the caliper stoped flexing and the break is realy solid now and it is very powerful . give them a go
