Edit: Proper Stiff Link In The Chain

Hey sounds like the chain is out of line, youl find the noise is when the chain leaves the tensioner and mounts the rear cog!!! (slightly slipping) to fix this the easy solution is to put a washer between your hub and your frame. by doing this it pushes the frame out slightly allowing your tensioner to be in exact enlightenment :)

Right well i havent got a camera at the moment as the sister has took it to uni with her. But i had a look in further investigation its more like the split link but the looks of it as once the split link goes up the back cog thats when the skip/jump starts. Plus im in need of another split link i should get away with two shouldnt i? but once i have the split link and get it on etc ill just have to adjust the tension on the tensioner etc then pedal it slowly but i think ive solved the problem i will have to find out on friday as that is when i can get a split link due to me being at college etc. But cheers for some tips etc lads.

Seriously, i wouldn't use one, never mind two. risking it snapping with so much pressure. i used a split link for day at a comp the other week due to chain snapping day before, after a day i could see it was about to die. Get a good kmc chain, and fit it without the split link. much safer when done correctly.

use a chain tool. Most of the have a peice for removing stiff links.

Stick it in the rear part of the tool, wind it in until it touches then turn it between 1/4 and 1/2 a turn.

Fixed.

Sram PC48 chains are the nuts, just watch out for the rollers dissapering from between the links.

Put your thumbs either side of the link. And bend the back and forth this will loose the surrounding joins up and freeing the link. Works everytime for me.

Tryed that and always did that soloution in the past with problems with seizing chains especially srams ive been through 3-4 different types of sram chains i think its about time to upgrade to more of a trials specific one like a gusset or kmc depends am not update to date with what chains are good etc. But am trying my best to unseize it ive currently left a ball of blue roll in tf2 around the seized link that was my dads idea so im gonna have to leave it and see what magic happens over night.
