Freewheel And Cranks

I used to lock the freewheel tool onto the crank with like a g-clamp type thing then put a big spanner on the tool but at an angle so that you make a wide angle V between the crank arm and the spanner. Place the assembly on the floor with the point of the v (the freewheel) raised off the floor and STAMP on the freewheel! Make sure you have some tough soled shoes on and it should work. Always did for me anyway...
