Phil H
I'm currently looking for a new frame, I'm 6 foot 2 and into my sport so weigh over 90kg. I'm currently riding a T-Rex but I'm in need of something with a bit of BB rise (not talking +60 or anything!) Essentially I'm looking for a long frame, which is strong enough to take abuse, has a bit of BB rise and is lighter than my T-Rex.Firstly I've been looking as the Toxsin 1 but im not 100% about it.Secondly was looknig at the long Pure, apparently have a nice geo, have medium BB rise - 35mm and are light as, quite worried I'd snap it though. Thirldy could get my hands on a toxsin 2 easily but don't think it would be right for me.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Phil
Bigman
07 Czar, i am 6ft4 and feel perfectly at home on mine, absolutely love it! you have the good ole deng strength, decent reach, nice bb rise and decent chainstay length, i am running a TMS 25 x 135mm stem and onza 30inch risers and it is loverly!Adam
hugh_b
limey 2 dude! The new one is solid as a rock. 1085 wheelbase but one of the longest reach frames. I'm 6ft and it's comfy for me, maybe even more for a slightly taller person. around a +10mm bb but anything much higher and it doesn't tap too nice. Nearly got my hands on one of them as my mate was gonig to get an Ozony and sell me his but hasn't come through. Cheers, PhilQUOTE (hugh_b @ Nov 26 2007, 09:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>limey 2 dude! Seen the gusseting on it, looks insane strong! Any idea how much they weigh though? 10BB sounds quite nice. Would need to see what kinda price they go for second hand, any ideas?Cheers, Phil

Second hand you can pick them up for £150 ish but there arent many about. You could get new one from supercycles/onza on ebay for a good price if you take a look. cheers-hugh
Wet Banana
I'm 6ft 2" also and fit very snugly onto my Toxsin#1. WB comes in at 1085, I have a 110mm Echo stem and Zoo! risers facing forwards, I've got plenty of room.So the Toxsin gets my vote.

balfa
I'm 6'4 and have gone from a 06 pure to a t-rex for the length. The pure's have a really slack head angle so they ride really short for there size so probably not for you. Equally the higher bb, the shorter the reach and you'll get back strain. If i had money to burn i'd probably get a simtra as they have a long reach, reasonable bb rise and fairly indestructible.Have a look at my similar topichttp://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....p;#entry1379239 Edited November 26, 2007 by balfa
Phil H
Hugh_B - £150 would be allright, will have a look out for them, need to investigate them abit more, thanks for your input mate.Wet Banana - Thanks for the info, the Toxsin looks like it could be a good idea also at £150 or there abouts just not sure if it will suit my riding.Ad101 - Haha but how tall are you? Rode a czar a few weeks ago, was nice I guess but not perfect for me, very different to my T-Rex as you can imagine. As for the Bt's I dont think they are too much different in geo to the toxsin 1, just had a look at the Simantra, looks good, moderate BB rise but aren't too cheap. Looking to pay about £180 for a second hand frame.Petrum - Like I said above I was under the impression the BT's weren't far off the Toxsin 1 and im not 100% sure thats what im looking for in a frame, look quite natural orientated but I do abit of both.Pashley26 - 2 months without tarty is a crime! Balfa - Ah yeah the T-Rex's are preety long, just weigh quite abit and have 0BB rise so i'm just ready to move on. Ah yeah ead the topic, cheers for the link - guess the pure is out of the runnings. I doubt Simantras would be about for around £180, cheers. Thanks for all the responses guys, appreciated.Phil
psycholist
I'm about 5'11" and ride an old Echo pure with an 80mm stem. There's no BB rise and the BB to centre of headtube top distance is 27.5". This seems to be about half an inch longer than pretty much anything I've seen for sale. at the moment. The bike feels class on the back wheel. What I'm wondering is whether my current frame having no BB rise while most newer frames have rise makes newer bikes as easy to lift and hold on the back wheel as my current bike? Fitting a longer stem will allow most frames to be made fit your height but presumably the longer the stem the more likely it is to snap - it'll also make the bike feel a bit funny on the front wheel...
