Ross McArthur
What is your opinion on leaving in background noise, ie, wind, cars, brake squeak, hub hum-click, tire thud etc?In videos im on about, is it a better idea to play music straight over the top of clips or is it more awthentic to hear the thud of a tire and the screech of a disc and the grunt of a rider as he/she taps or gaps? Thanks for any comments. NileBrown™
I say both really, as I prefer to watch videos with music and still have the brake noises in other wise it seems a tad boring if you get me.
James Quigley
I think it's a widely held belief that only riders as smooth as say Felix Muche (spelling?) can get away with absolutely no music, just bike noises. But for us everyday riders I think brake squeeks are cool, but stoopid loud cars and wind should be muted. Rumplestiltskin
Get a pro 2 and some decent brakepads. Like the ones I have! Then you won't have a problem with the wind muting you...

You need one of those tea cosy things they put on TV mics.

Endohopper
Some ambient noise and mechanical sounds left in are fine / prefferable . What really infuriates me is when there is dirt / spray / stuff on the lens - clean the damned thing before each take .
