Basically: Im driving my skoda still, now Im in uni, if I re-new the policy with ecar they want £1000 ish for third party only (instead of £1060 for fully comp) got no idea why, might try to shop around a bit, but I think I want something different, because the skoda's not as fun as im sure you can imagine.

The 205 I want because its easy to work on, small, light and something I'd just want to drive for fun lol. The skoda's a bit sensible and I've not actually experianced owning a car thats fast. MPG is also another factor, the skoda's doing about 45mpg whereas the 205 will do (apparently) 35mpg. The skoda is IDEAL for koxx days, I really can't see comfort happening in a 205 there unless im sharing with only 1 other person lol

Last point is insurance. the skoda's group 5 the 205 is group 7. Im going to have to wait until march to get my 1 year no claims bonus anyway, but the skoda is 1998, 205 is 1989 lol. Im going to be on the lookout for the *ideal* 205 if i decide to go for it, hence why im asking now.

So what do you guys think. Before anyone says, I DONT want any other cars. I've looked into alot and they just dont appeal to me for one reason or another. And im sorry its not very readable, Im a tad bit hungover this morning....

What 205 are you looking at?

low spec petrol model?

Diesel?

Gti?

If your gonna get a 205 get a diesel, or a Gti. Otherwise, theres no point, your skoda will be better in EVERY way.

Gti is fast and fun, but insurance will be high and MPG low.

the diesels are reliable as muck (ignoring french electronics here) they will just keep on going. I had my dads 205 diesel for a few months, and it was a right laugh, even did road rallies in it! it had done 300k had been in 2 accidents, had 3 interiors, and a shit respray. Eventually came off the road as a brake caliper was siezed and i bent on of the tiebars on a road rally, along with other niggly things it would have cost too much to get it through an mot. It sat for a year, then fired up 1st turn of the key with a jumpstart (i left the interior light on for a year lol!).

It did good on milage, and hapily sat at 80-90 on the motorway.
