N.Wood
Use a pan with half your bed strapped to it as a makeshift hammer?!Or raise the stem by a cm or so, tighten up the clamping bolts and try rocking it fore/aft.
BenLeacock™
Get a piece of wood and a brick ? Alternativly, keyboard and mouse ? Just guess we wont be speaking on here for a while!
2sixstreet
Turn it upside down, put the stem back on part way, pick it up by front wheel and drop it to the floor.

Will Arnold
just for future reference, for people with this problem, you just need to 'tap' the outer ring of the upper headset.the forks will just fall out if done correctly! max-t
or get a rubber mallet and give the steerer tube a bash or two.
PaRtZ
did your housemates come in wondering what you were doing?I had that once, but it wasn't bike related...
Will Arnold
or get a rubber mallet and give the steerer tube a bash or two.spose it depends what headset you have. but sometimes that can make it worse! when a fork wont comout, its usually the upper parts of the headset that have locked together with the fork. pushing down on the fork makes it worse!did your housemates come in wondering what you were doing?I had that once, but it wasn't bike related...bashing your tube were you? PaRtZ
bashing your tube were you?n-n-n-n- yes. It was my test tube baby which I was incubating in a shoe box under my bed. He got agitated by me trying to re-align my bb7 caliper so I started bashing his containing tube. Taught the f*cker a lesson

walker
just my efforts to get the steerer tube out, and as for the bike, ive managed to strip the pedal thread in the right hand crank! I've got a set of monty cranks, but they wont fit on my koxx unless i get a wider BB, but in not going to do that seen as a i am waiting to get my Leeson frame back on which everything fits perfect.Andrew
