The chain heavily rubs on the tensioner, it tensions the chain but it is really stiff to pedal. My chain won't go any shorter and it wouldn't work if it was longer. Posted November 23, 2007 Report Share Posted November 23, 2007 alrite mate this problem is a common thing, happens when you run certin ratios of chain rings, change your front onne down 2 teeth and you should have enough slack to take out an extra link and your chain,tentioner,gear ratio should be right then you should have a smooth rideCheers Jamie. Bionic Balls Posted November 24, 2007 Report Share Posted November 24, 2007 is it a new chain? when i got a new chain it was either really long like that or too short....but i gave it a few days (kept skipping ) and then i was able to get a link out...was still really tight though..now it's stretched a bit more it's fine so...go do some static stuff that doesn't involve rolling anywhere (or else it skips like a beasty b*****d..) Greetings Posted November 24, 2007 Report Share Posted November 24, 2007 Is that a GU 06? If so, your answer is an 18:15 gear ratio. It requires ~377mm chainstays to keep the chain tension up.
