DrEvil270183
As title says, car got broken into last night. bit gutted but surprisingly calm to say they got a set of alloy wheels 17", 2 with new tyres. and my stereo. Insurance covers me for stereo upto £750. it didn't cost that so i wouldn't claim that, but how will it effect the price of insurance next year?dont want to claim £150 for a new stereo to get charged an extra £200 or something on my cover.Tim. James
You will be more than likely charged extra. I had my car broken into a couple of years ago, they nicked an mp3 player, my headunit and some audio equipment, probably all totalling about £400. I said to my mum that we should not involve the insurance and sort it out privately but she insisted and subsequently my premium went up about £600 and I had a higher excess to pay, total f**king rip off. Anyways, if you can i'd try and sort it sans-insurance if I were you. Edited November 21, 2007 by James
Tomm
Yeah, definitely not worth claiming - your premium will go up loads. What's your excess? Surely that'll be about £250?
Jaffacakes
I wouldnt claim unless you dont have a no claims bonus, if you do it wont go up that much. My insurance is £2000 on a 1.4!So I wouldnt claim personaly.Gutten though, it takes the piss.
