Yes, it might be expensive (but only slightly more than the iPod touch), and perhaps slightly low on features but some people don't mind that. A guy in my film class got one the other day, hacked it so he could use it with o2 pay as you go. Works well but not practical. I am pretty happy with my sony w810i, camera is good enough for a fun (party) photo music sounds good and not too attractive to thiefs (compared to the iPhone). Had a play on it in carphone warehouse and it was swish, but I didn't like the whole keyboard thing when texting. I have pretty fat fingers and get annoyed easily so that didn't work out. Fish-Finger-er Posted November 22, 2007 Report Share Posted November 22, 2007 i dont see it as expensive for the phone, i just see the whole contract thing making it expensive, if it was in shops at £269 and you stuck your sim card in it, id probably of bought one and binned the n95 off(i need a bigger music player, and im bored of my phone, its a lot cheaper than buyin a new phone and getting a new ipod).but the price of the contract is stupid expensive i pay £35 a month and get £180.00 of credit, which is 900 minutes or 1800 texts or a mixture of the 2, but on top of that i get free everning and weekend calls, so loadsa my minutes aint counted, i get free 3g net access, including using me phone as a modem for me pc(a lot better than paying £12 a day for travellodge broadband) with a 3gb monthly limit and got a n95 for free when they were like £450 on ebay and £600 officially sim free. Seemed to make everything you want your phone to do alot more complicated, like typing with the touch screen pad, I was forever pressing the wrong key (chubbyish fingers )A friend of mine recently went to Carphone Warehouse, and they told her the best phone on the market at the minute, is the LG Veiwty. Its only the fact its an LG that people don't have them, there opinion on the iPhone was its all good, but its all old technology, like internet on phones is what? 5-6 year old, 2mp cameras the same. It's only the fact its in a fancy little package that make people want it and the fact its Apple. I have got some very very good prints of 10x8 from my 2mp phone as long as the image is very sharp to begin with. not so good if your printing the pictures out on a inkjet, anything above 6x4 do start to stuggle with the quality. I think Apple is seen as cool and the media has made a big thing of it, when in reality a Samsung of 3-4 years ago was doing everything the iPhone does, but without the annoying touchscreen. Si-man Posted November 24, 2007 Report Share Posted November 24, 2007 Only decent touch screen i have used it the ones we use on the robots at work. cost about £700 for the screen alone mind.Not a fan of the iphone really, had ago on a mates and wasnt really that impressed. calling people is a nightmare, you have to have the phone about 4 foot from your head just to make sure one of your hairs doesnt accidentally cancel the call.Ill stick with the old Nokia N95 thank you.
