Janson
right,me and some friends are hosting an after work pub-type event on thursday. atmosphere is usually chilled, some food, beer and good company.we need some music for all of this. last time we had some zero7, some random rock classics and some music that i wasnt too happy with. so i figured i'd ask on here seeing as there are at last a few DJs.it's a bit hard for me seeing as i am an emo/indie whore and nobody likes the music i like, so i can't just take my whole itunes library and shuffle it... Janson
I'd say we have about a fiver. Kind of tight if you want to cover train+flight+bus+accomodation+food and the same for the way back...

Yeah, getting all my equipment over may cause some problems too - slightly more than one person can carry across Europe Seriously though, music for a variety of ages is difficult - whilst most would happy with a chilled out dance CD, like Ministry of Sounds older annuals (Before they went cheesey) there's always some that hate dance music. If you put on Rock classics there's always some that will hate that. It's a tough call, the only way is to get a DJ that plays everything - though the DJ will usually be crap, and his tune selection will normally be generic (ie the latest 50 cent track mixing into Summer of 69 or whatever).I'm afraid you can't win. Janson
Yeah it's a bit so-so.It's at uni so it's not going to be people too different from each other. Most people are in their early twenties and engineering students.
MadManMike
Surely some up to date Indie would suffice?
Janson
i am doing this with my society/fraternity whatever, and the rest of the people HATE my taste in music. it's really quite a challenge. weird how i became in charge for music but i guess it is because people cant do it any better themselves. i reckon some fairly relaxed ambient could be good, and some less tame songs. meh.
