robb_o
I've heard rumours that you can now get a £30 on the spot fine for not having lights on your bike at night! Is anyone actually going to put a set of lights on their trials bike? lol.I can't imagine any of us putting up a decent chase from the police on their bikes!Maybe it's just Basingstoke... Andeee
I suggest you buy some knog lights. they come in different colours and just wrap around a bar or stay and clip on. just press the button and it flashes.
Mike Winton.
We got stopped for it the other day, all three of us on silly seatless bikes. its stupid, its obvious that the bikes are kept as minimal as possible, so adding lights would be ridiculous.Probably clip them riding too ! El_Pelligrosso
We had this same problem down in Burnham on Sea. We were only riding there for the afternoon and before we knew the dark was upon us. We had two coppers have a word with us about it and gave us a pack that we had to go to our local police station with, but not before we had put some lights on our bikes. When we went to the police station they then told us off for the way that they were fixed to the bike. Mind you we did have them taped to the top tube where the saddle would be. When we had fitted them properly they were ok about it but the lights soon came off again. Haven't had a problem with the police about having no lights since but i would expect that it will be coming soon

The Duck
Get the ones that clip to your clothes.
wrongsideof40
I was just reading it up about the law with lights and stuff, a rear reflector is also the law . You are not required to have lights fitted if the bike is stationary or being pushed. As was said what about the ones that clip to your clothes, its a play on words because they are fitted to the bike as long as your riding it and when you not moving you dont need lights. job sorted . Muel
Take the risk, pay the £30.If your bothered, get a light, legally, you only need a rear one, just clip it onto your belt before you go out.
joshball
Me and 2 other mates got stopped by coppers and they said we will be getting a letter/fine through the post but we havent recieved nothing.Plus when they took my date of birth i sed i was 15 and my bday is on 9/12/90 so that makes me 16 yet they didnt realise and i found that quite funny hahaha. anzo
Yep, they sure do. And I've been hit twice with it now.Kind of depressing paying the fines though...makes you feel like you should have done something worse to get your £30's worth... BenLeacock™
Helmet lights are pritty cool, ive got one for my xc bike. So when i do go on trials bike i just chuck that on. Theres these tiny lights as well, can't find them that are pritty good, and do class as a ROAD LEGAL LIGHT! Rear lights are pritty hard since most people dont have a seat post

Dan6061
I always thought that was for bikes being ridden on roads etc? Not our usual street riding in town centres etc?
The Stig
It's getting ridiculous you can get fined for riding on the pavement!! i mean come on lets face it no one likes bikes on the road! it is dangerous!! Anyway yeah there are stupid laws like certain light (flashin) you have to use it with a stationary one!! f**king Scams thats all and yeah i got stopped for riding on the pavement and no lights, he just gave me a stop and search!! lol But i went on the road to let the guy coming towards me on a bike (again no lights on the pavement about 40) and because i jumped of the pavement he stopped me!! bastards!! sexymike
In my opinion ( and i sell a lot of lights) the ONLY option is one of these.Retail at £6.99 each (£14 a pair) and are the best option. Battery lasts around 100 hours on constant, near as damn it impossible to break, we have had 1 in the shop and absoloutly thrown it around, selling loads to BMXers and kids because they dont break.made in 12 colours, hook onto them selves (no bracket), you really can ride with them in the pocket and you dont know they are there.Rinse the competition for me, perfect.
