Mr Plod
I'm running an Actiontec router with Virgin Media broadband. I've never bothered using a password for my wireless before purely because I always thought you'd need the usb adaptor to pick up the wireless but my sister brought home her boyfriends apple laptop and without the usb adaptor she's picked up on my wireless so yes I want to whack a password on it now as she's absolutly raping my download speeds and general browsing speed! Also if she can pick up the wireless without the adaptor then surely I can? Can anyone tell me how as I'm tired of having this adaptor plugged into the usb port as it pretty much defeats the object of 'Wireless'Cheers
Nick Dale
Nob.Most macs have built in adapters. You need to go into the routers settings via it's i.p..Open a web browser page and in the address type "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.1.0"It could be either of them or something entierly different.
