yo

ive bought one of those new pug v-clic 50's

i dont want anyone telling me its rubbish or whatever cause i dont care.

anyway

its VERY restriceted to 30mph i mean go downhill it wont go above 30.

the thing that confuses me.

it goes 30 no matter what, down hill and up hill.

so if it can do 30 up hill surely itll go allot faster downhill?

so i was thinking of gettin it de-restricetd?

does it cost much?

will it f**k the bike up?

will it actually make much of a differnce?

thanks

Unless you are over 17 i think it is, you would get f**ked on a de restricted bike.

ways of de restricting...

New exhaust, with engine rollers and clutch springs (usually come with exhaust)

New CDI box to increase fuel flow and revs (think they are all CDI)

Fuel restriction washer thing.

Theres more.

Not sure about your make of bike, but they seemed to have worked on my 100cc.

do i care?

You should. End of the day the 'guy above' will probably save you from creating a topic in a months time with 'Cops are wankers' or something...Don't mean to sound harsh...but they're 30mph for a reason. Meaning that when you crash into my car and I find out your insurance is void because you modified your bike...I'll be left to pay it on my own because I'd have been hit by an uninsured driver...

I'm guessing you don't know much about bikes (hence this topic), which leads me to believe you don't know much about riding...although you probably like to think you do. You might want to keep it at 30 for your own safety mate :)

I cant find anything on Ebay, usually google shows up stuff.

30 is just dangerous. If mine went that fast, id be dead by now after some of the drivers round here

??

explain?

and to the other guy i didnt mean to sound so rude just not in a good moood :P

also

your right i dont have a clue about bikes and i dont think i do at all.

but thanks :)

If you mean about me dying, well.

cars like pulling out on me at the last minute, im im talking within a few meters so not really a chance to brake fast enough.

If i didnt have acceleration and over 30mph top speed (as you will probably be flat out at that time anyway) it would have side swipped me.

Had that done afew times.

Also, its just safer as you tend to be able to go the same speed as the rest of the traffic and dont get bullied into moving etc.

Thats how i see it anyway.

Did my CBT on some 50cc pizza bike thing, was shit scary on that compared to what i have now, it did 34 at a push and accelerated like a brick going up hill

I no a load of lads that have got 50cc bikes de-restricted, and one of them full race tuned and capable of doing 80+mph. They were caught on a 40mph road doing 70, and they managed to get away with it. If you get it de restricted to about 55-60 then nothing will happen, cause aprillia's come restriced to 50

i might just leave it and deal with it.

i mean when im 17 i can get a 125

meh.

30's enough in town and that its just i feel like a twat when all my mates have sprialls and speedfights.

oh well.

There could be a restriction in the intake air box or the exhaust (or both). The vehicle may need to be re-jetted (carb) after the restriction is removed. Years ago I picked up 7 mph on a moped by just removing the baffle in the air box. No re-jetting was required however the noise level did increase. Also, there could be restricters in the muffler that can either be removed, or have holes drilled in them. You can do a google search of removing moped muffler restricters (not necessarily exact keywords) and you can also find a nice performance air filter to replace the existing air filter, which may be very big, and bulky, most likely blocking a lot of air flow, which will give you more power. These are the simplest ways to increase power without serious modification. If you want to go very fast, buy yourself a speed kit. Be aware of your laws when the definition of a moped (no more than 30mph and 50cc) changes.

There's always a washer in the Variator, that's piss easy to take out and you'll get 40+ out of it if you remove that.

A new exhaust will only make the difference if the washers been taken out of the variator, as the washer stops the belt getting into the highest gear.

Not sure about your make of bike, but they seemed to have worked on my 100cc.

I do hope you realise 100cc arn't restricted at all.... well my pug speedy 2 isn't. From browsing pug-forums they just arn't. 50cc's can be de restricted in various ways for various models. Whatever people say you dont get f**ked up by the 5-0 for derestricting them, its way too much effort to find out, i mean if you get a turnover pee shooter its kinda obious but genrally people turn a blind eye.

I know that if you want to make a 50cc speedy go faster you can drop a 100cc in, same size and fittings etc. just engine and chasis numbers wont match. But yea in the end 50cc's are slow whatever you do to them... my mates had all top end expensive scooters, whereas miune was a 100quid peice of shit, they could go 5-10mph faster on the flat, but they just didnt have enough power to go anyfaster, however as soon as they hit a hill they could get about 50.... meh.... not too much of a difference to be honest...

Take that plate off. Comes off very easy once you've undone all the bolts.

Then you'll see the variator. The variator is the left hand disc that spins, you can see that on this vid.

There's a bolt in the middle that you need to undo, but thats pretty tricky as the variator will turn as you undo the bolt so try an wedge the variator so it doesn't turn, you can then slide off the drive belt, behind that will be a washer that pulls off.

Put it all back together, fannys your uncle and you've got a de-restricted bike.
