Mike W
Hey, I have a set of echo lite 06 forks and it looks like the disc mount has been welded on at the wrong angle, the pads face inwards towards the hub slightly but enough to make my brake rub and hardly work.Does anyone know how to sort this out? i think its too far to face the mounts. or is it just new forks time ?Thanks alot,Mike. Luke Rainbird
Get it faced and use spacers?
Mike W
Get it faced and use spacers?Spacers wont make a difference i dont think ?
Fixed Pants™
Facing it will, then the metal you take off from facing is made up by spacers. You'll have a stupidly awesome brake after facing too, hopefully.
Mike W
Looks like that from the top. Not quite as extreme but you get the drift. Edited November 12, 2007 by t-comp-mike
Dan6061
What brake is it?
Luke Rainbird
In what way is it at an angle? as in, the top sticks out more/less than the bottom, or front more/less than the back.If it's the first, spacers will sort you out, if not, have fun
Mike W
front sticks inwards more than the back, its mono trials.I think the only way is new forks or some serious bodging.
craigjames
my old forks did this, if youve got a good eye and a steady hand get the file out. worked for me, if not get toa bike shop and get it faced. sounds like the mounts fully buggered though! not good.ive got a set of echo control forks and the mounts welded in the wrong place, using a bb7 i have to use a slightly spaced out 165 adaptor witha 185 rotor cause the calliper sits over only half the rotor otherwise!!! Wet Banana
Send them back to where you got them, why waste your time & money on facing?

Muel
I know it's been said enough, but here's what you actually need to do.Get it faced.Get it spaced. It is simple shit to be honest.
Tony Harrison
Anyone buying a set of mass-produced aluminium forks should get the mount faced. Especially when using an open hydraulic disk brake. Makes a world of difference.
