Why The Hate Towards Youtube

Recommended Posts

i have put this topic up to find out why everyone hates youtube and calls its users lazy etc,

i think youtube is a great website and i think it should be compulsary for a youtube link to be added when putting a video up

so that any video's put up that arent worth watching can be quickly filtered through without having to spend 5-6minutes downloading them

this may sound abit harsh and its probably because i do media that i have certain expectations of these video's

but i think its a fair point!

any comments welcome

cheers Dave!

I usually watch the youtube version of videos if there's a choice. Yeah, the quality is rubbish but it hardly matters. Although obviously if it's a good video I'll download the proper version (if there is one).

People that moan when they're given a free video to watch are stupid :P

I thinks its because people spend time editing, getting nice camera's ect. When they have finnished video's they put them on tv.isg ect because it shows the video in pritty good quality. Youtube makes the videos look crap, and i remember the other day someones video all the sound had got mixed up due to a youtube. Basically youtube is all well and good for watching a fast video, but for a video from a good rider tv.isg is the way to go :)

Youtube does give poor quality output and fair enough ruins the editing and the overall effect. But personally i agree it is a amazing site obviously it has teething problems like all major sites but meh i can put up with that. Although i do prefer TVSG?? whatever it is called :)

There are a few things that I dislike about putting videos on youtube rather than a download link:

1. The resolution is usually very low, making it annoying to watch.

2. If you want to watch the video again in the future, you have to go searching for it and hope that it hasn't been removed. If it is downloadable, you can just save it if it is good.

3. I can't always get on youtube at work :giggle:

People should put up youtube and tv.isg

Youtube is fast an easy. Ok, the quality is poor but the riding can still be good. And if there is much work behind it with editing and good cameras with high resolution I understand that people want better quality. But as a first look I prefer youtube and if it's good I would like to have a good version. So in my opinion I think you should put up your videos on youtube with a link in the description to a high quality file.

And it's easier for more people will find you if you also use youtube.

Agreed! I often don't have the time or disc space to download vids. Youtube is going to get you more views of your vid for people in my shoes. Once you've got their attention them higher quality downloads are nice to have :)
