Boswell
Winter is now upon us and a lot of peoples breaks are vonrable to freezing as they are bleed with water. Now, a lot of people say "put antifreeze into the water" but what if you dont have it? I was thinking salt but i dont know what effect that would have on the break system. Have you got any other ideas?
The Duck
To be honest, it'll be fine. Can't think of an alternative to antifreeze, buts its like £4 for more than you'll ever need.

26inch
putting any liquid in water will drop the freezing point make sure it mixes with the water though not just seperates.
Phil H
If the bike lives if the garage your laughing, straight water bleed won't freeze. (in my experience)Phil

Tomm
so is oil a liquid? im confused Er yes?! It's not solid. It's not a gas. Therefore it's liquid*.*It's not a f**king plasma either before some smartarse quotes me.Just remembered, WD40. I used that once, it didn't work. Can't quite remember why but I think it's a bad idea. I think it leaks too easily - I had an RB lever though, it might be OK with a standard lever. To be honest, if it's cold enough for brake fluid to freeze, I'd rather be inside by a log fire, smoking a pipe and reading the Telegraph (or something)

Felippe
Please do not put salt in, it will eat your brakes. Salt in water is highly corrosive!!!
