sexymike
yer, doesnt look all that nice to usei like the old maggy lever blades that were nice and round, like a stick
totally steaming!!
cheers dude, can sort of see your point... how would you improve it??good research lol
monkeyseemonkeydo
Looks like CAD for CAD's sake to me... not much thought gone into it. Radius where your finger sits needs to be bigger to make it more usable and comfortable. I'd advise not making it a 'c' section as that would bend and flex like a biatch... Angles look wrong- the blade wouldn't sit right in respect to the bars. You could include a reach adjust screw. Also, if this is going to be part of a project it's probably worth working out some leverage values and forces and running a bit of FEA on it... will create lots more pretty pictures to BS markers with
Lawnmowerman
Make it more curved like a magura cnc lever blade. They're so comfy.

Lawnmowerman
Those holes would probably do my tits in after a few minutes too. You'd end up with dents on your fingers.

You need need to consider how something like that is going to be manufactured. For something that complex I cant imagine any cost effective traditional manufacturing techniques. My suggestion would be take the exact geo from a Maggie or Deng blade and model something new-ish around that. Do some basic calcs and then see what results you get from subtle tweaks in length, moving the pivot etc. What program are you using by the way? Ashley Smith
do away with those holes, they would act as a weak spot, potentially allowing the elevr to snap at one of those points if the bike was dropped, you wont save that much weight eitherash
Adrian
yeah that is absolute wank to be honest
Nick Dale
yeah that is absolute wank to be honestI would like to see you do any better.Nobody is saying its "wank" There just generaly giving him pointers of what to do for next time!I bet if they were buming it you would also.I'm going to say its a good effort!I know for a fact i couldn't use CAD to save my life..Maybe that is because i have never used it.Either way it looks like it could be very complicated if you don't have the right instruction!Just keep at it and you will eventualy come up with a perfect design. T.McMillan
you know when you pull the lever and it touches your middle finger well if that one does it, it would slice your finger off, looks cool though
