i want to stick a hope mono hub in the rear of my road bike, only problem is its a racer so the hub spacing is 130mm and i dont fancy springing it an extra 5mm.

So i put it to you, the people of trials forum : Can I make alter the spacing of a hope mono rear hub to 130mm?

File down the 2 spacers and axle by 2.5mm each side. I'd put a cassette on first and check for space on the drive side though.

ah cool, would it be that simple? would it be best to just take 5mm from the non-drive side as the cassette clearene on the frame issue and nothing has to line up with the left hand side of the hub?

But then you will have the whole wheel offset to one side, unless you dish it over by which i should think will be quite abit? you may have to use shorter spokes one side longer other.

you might be able to get away with filling it, just make sure you check that it is only the drive and non-drive side spacers and the axle that will need filling; I dont think you can file down a rotor body, because you'll be filling away the lockring thread. Check how much adjustment you have in your brakes to potenitaly account for the rim being out of alignement and check how long your spokes are too in case you do need to dish the wheel.

its only 5mm but it sounds like it could be a bit of a mission!
