Fish-Finger-er
Seems pretty harsh. I mean if it was the engine light or something serious then it would make sense. But there are still plenty of cars without airbags so it's pretty unfortunate that you had to stop the test. Oh well, good luck next time.nah, id disagree, as lights go, the engine/engine management light is one of the least serious to be(of course not money wise, but then you dont own the car). generally means theres something wrong with the engine/electrics, but its either running ok, or the ecu will be restricting the power/revs/boost available and run it in limp mode. the car knows theres a problem, and if it was stupidly serious it wouldnt allow it to run. the air bag light coming on, on the other hand, generally means the air bag may not deploy in a crash, but it may also mean it may deploy during normal driving, which is far more serious than an engine cutting out(as even on the 3rd lane of the motorway, it should be possible for you to roll onto the hard shoulder using hazard lights, mirrors, horn and a bit of oh so illegal coasting)bad luck, but thats life. i failed my first test due to some guy in a golf coming round the roundabout off the bypass way too fast for his own good, trying to slot in behind me, but couldnt quite brake in time, so came up the outside of me, and wanted to go off on the same exit as me. i couldnt use the left lane to exit, and had to slow right down and slot in behind him. got a major, supposedly for lack of obersvation. beigemaster
Sorry to hear that dude but I can empathise with you. On my first test it was all going pretty then we got back to the test centre when he asked me to do a reverse bay park. I did the manoeuvre and he told me to switch the engine off then informed me that I "Hadn't passed this time". I thought to myself I had probably done something stupid without realising like not doing mirrors at a junction but then he informed me that I had received one minor and one major. He then proceeded to show me that my back wheel was about 2 inches over the line and that was my "major". I remember being so pi55ed off because (as I’m sure your aware) the vast majority of drivers out there are really bad (I reckon if you were to make every driver take there test again 98% would fail) yet I was denied a driver's license because of this one thing (which most people bay park forwards anyway).Anyway good news was I took it again and I passed with 3 minors and my last manoeuvre was the bay park and it was the same examiner. If you didn't get marked down at all for 30 minutes of the test then you'll pass easily.
