Diamondback.

why are diamondback rated so lowly?

ive ridden diamondback for years and other than the low end stock bikes (<£500) having the equivalent parts put on them (budget parts) the bikes themselves are amazing, ive ridden countless DB's and quite literally put my life on the frame of a couple of them...

i can honestly say the top spec DB's are top class!

are they just classed as a budget company due to them selling into argos etc, or do people actually find the frames snap like the rumours tell?

Ive ridden the coil EX right through to the AXIS, over some pretty heavy ground, with only minimal problems on the coil (mostly weight issues and the brakes having faults (but blame Quad for that!)

Ive also jumped the single speed lex (bloody hard to get hold of was that one!) and bailed with about 15' of air with no problems (to the bike!) except a brake lever bending

and finally my babies, the downhill bikes... the xts moto has held up to everything ive thrown at it, and this is a cheap downhill bike, ive used ti for some seriously heavy work from freeride and downhill racing to dropping in of things and cliffs to 25'

What are your true opinions fo diamondback and why...

too damn heavy and too damn common. HOWEVER, there new trials bikes are the sex (Y)

again their low end bikes are heavy, as too are their dh but the rest are very nice =]

and i know about the trial, i plan to get the rrp £600 one, kabuko or summit?

ive been in touch with db about having a bashplate mount fitted into the frame also =]

Minimise your chances of getting your trousers stuck in a freewheel I say!

Diamondback bikes are great easily affordable and easy to find bikes in my opinon, I quite like the new model of the Groove, Bone colour. :P

I seen them as low as £500 for the Kabuki Mono, they're a great bike too, to those who say its a copy of the Pitbull, well perhaps it is but its a good way for a starter to trials.

Kabuki

Well my only experience of diamond back bikes was my mate Paul getting one, going out on its first ride in Glasgow heading back home on the train and me noticing what i thought was a scratch on his chain stay turned out to be snapped clean through. nearly pissed my self laughing in a fit of i told you so.

They are rated low because they are low.

They consistently produce shit bikes then wonder why no one buys. Some of the XC bikes are pretty good but i just couldn't ride a Diamondback and feel comfortable, when for 100-200 more i could have a giant of similar if not better suited specification that i know has had the R&R put in, plus didn't have "Diamondback" written down the down-tube.

Hell, have you seen their old trials bikes? Christ.
