Martin Jol

So there it is, Martin Jol has been sacked along with his number 2 Chris Houghton from Spurs. After 3 good years from Martin and a impressive 30 years service from Chris, the pair are bumped off. Clearly they haven't left off thier own backs, they have been pushed by Daniel Levy. I no this probably isn't the place to rant about it but i don't care...

I understand that a football club is a business and that you have to score goals and get results to generate the majority of your income but last season Martin Jol helped Levy make £25m profit, and now is being asked to leave with no recognition for his achievements. I think its pretty poor.

All I can say is that I hope Martin remembers us at The Lane for a long time and that he goes on to manage a club where he wont be manipulated by the directing board. Also that we get a manager who understands the club and its supporters... like Jol.

MARTIN JOL, MARTIN JOL, MARTIN MARTIN JOL, HE'S GOT NO HAIR BUT WE DON'T CARE, MARTIN MARTIN JOL!

Being an Arsenal fan, I would like to remind you that whilst you are lounging at the bottom of the table after the media predicted you would finish 4th, we are currently pretty much invincible and defying just about everyone who said Arsenal would be crap without Henry :D

And I'll be the first to say you lot are really deserving of your current position in the league. Your display the other night was awesome, gorgeous football! Good to see a team can crack on and still do well after losing a key player.

Even if it is Arsenal.

And very nice it is to see a supportive reasonable Spurs fan too :)

I do think football clubs are getting far too hasty in sacking their managers now, soon we'll be like Spain where it seems customary to sack your manager no matter how well they do, such as Real Madrid who sacked their coach after they won the league.

God knows why Spurs are doing so terrible though, they really should be doing better, so you can see their point.

I don't understand why all the spurs fans liked Jol. He was a nob on TV after the games, a terrible manager and he looks like he could be a paedophile.

hahahahaha.

i've never heard of either of them lol. football is for little fairy boys.

He did a hell of a lot for the club, most managers would go n spunk money on flash well known players whereas Jol has brought players through the squad, right from the junior side through to the first team.

We love him because he's honest, he doesn't lie or give us false hope, we know we're having a bad season, it's in black n white in the back of the paper everyday. Martin just says 'we'll have to try harder, and if that doesn't work then we'll have to keep at it untill it does work'. We respect him because he respects us.
