Danny Kearns
Might just drop college, get a full time job, get motorbike etc then start again in september...What do you lot think.I come straight out of school and into full time work. Biggest mistake of my life, Its the most soul Distroying thing in the entire world, I'm guessing your 18/19 years old. A lad of that age shouldn't be stuck in a full time job at that age, you should be out there having fun, studying at College etc.Stay at college man, Can get your motorbike and all that stuff after you've qualified in whatever your doing, when you have about 50 times more money than what you would earn if you went into a full time retail job.Why am i up, well to be honest, Xbox 360's, headphones with palylist is on, Tf is on other screen, I probs just don't wanna go sleep.P.S - Does anyone know any good software for learning CAD, Maybe some tutorials to go with the software ? Im in my first year atm, dont really like the people on my course, the course itself and i find it hard to concentrate on stuff. Basically what im thinking is quit now, get a full time job to pay for some stuff (re-do my room, get a nice motorbike, get back into trials, xbox and tv etc) then enjoy the summer, general mess about and knuckle down with college again in september. to be honest being with people a year younger wont bother me and this way i can have a bit of fun? Thats not along time really, Have you considered part time work ? It all depends what you want, I went into full time work because i wanted to, Fair does, Ive now got two trials bike, top pc, nice clothes, nice phone, xbox etc. but i havn't really achieved anything, All i did when i was in full time work was look at the clock and think, WTF . So now i've got everything i want, Decided i wanna do something with my life, So im going College, By all means drop out, then go back in September, If thats what you wanna do

Yeah theres only a few months left, but i have a LOT of work overdue, mainly because ive been dicking about with motorbikes. and i dont wanna get kept in at summer because im inundated with work, and it will be the same course im re-doing next year so i will have all of my work that ive done this year which will leave me ahead of the class. I think dropping and re-starting in september is a good idea to be honest, will let me get what i want and that will mean trying to obtain it wont affect college, because i will already have it if you get what i mean? If you can save money, Part time is ideal, My friend is at Full time College, 5 days a week. He works a tuesday and wednesday night, 5-11 at Sommerfields petrol station. Brings home around £300 a month. Im taking into account that your behind on work, but the fact that your so close to finishing a course, if you get the work done, even if you have to stay in over summer, You can then next year start of the higher level corse instead of reapeating what you've already done, which in my opinion makes no sense. Were not exactly in summer yet, Weathers still shit in my opinion. I recko weather will get better in a month or so, So for the next month, why not knuckle down, get your work done, even ask for some extra help at College off your tutor etc ? I know there's your freedom and fun to take into account, but you've also got to consider your future, I know your not dropping out fully, Im just saying. If you think it's gonna' be in your best interest to drop out and go into work and start again in September, then go for whats going to benifit YOU most, After all it's your life, You do whats best for you. And this is only my first year of the course, to be honest i havent learned a lot about anything. i reckon the bad-ish weather is good, because it will make me think more towards doing work rather than chucking a sickkie to go to the beach, and i will have the money i need by the good weather. My college tutors arent really helpful and to be honest the college as a whole isnt either, my timetable gets changed almost weekly and the tutors are really disorganised. And even if i did stick with college and finish a year earlier than my plan, it still wont really affect what pay or job i will get with the qualifications i recieve. Cheers for chatting to me about this btw mate, otherwise i would still be sitting here summing it up lol.

Joe Sheehan!
May i ask why you went for something...That wasn't going to earn you a great deal of money in the future ?well it means i am qualified to do quite a few things, and computers seems to be where the money is these days. It also leaves the window open for Uni as well which is always handy to have. Im not particularly bothered about earning millions per year, as long as it pays the bills i would be happy, my brother does programming and is on roughly £40k pa, and he didnt even go to college. Shaun H
I thought 8gb was in play now? or 6? somthing silly. My lecturer for CAD runs a machine with 16GB of ram, 2 quad core processors blah blah blah. Basically good as you can get (I'm guessing my Uni pays for it).He asks it to do mental calculations and it can take up to a week to finish As for me, I'm doing my conclusion now, then off to bed, up in morning, print off.Done. Then onto MATLAB c/w

JonMack
Becuase uni work is more fun/important than sleep. The sooner I get it done, the sooner I can find more stuff to pick holes in :/ But I'm listening to Level 42, so it's all good.

Dan6061
Stayed up doing english work. Teacher asked us to either review a film, or cd. So I reviewed 'Light Grenades' by Incubus. Seeing as it'd just finished dowloading, and I wanted to see how much they'd changed in 5 years. (last album I got of theirs was Morning View)Turns out they haven't really changed much. I basically copied online reviews. My mind went blank when I tried to write something half-decent, so I simply re-worded someone elses review.
