Nick Garland
By not as strong I would assume he means its got less metal thus being weaker, nothing to do with the power of the brake. It sounds like you cannot set it up properly to be fair, everyones BB7 I have used have been immense, even when I had mine it was amazingly powerful from the word go. What is your lever and cable set up btw?
Ben Jones
Could also be the bedding in time. You need to ride it for anytime up to 2 weeks before it fully beds in.My mates was wank, now rip y'all face off!
Nick Garland
I remember putting mine on, pulling the lever and nearly going over the bars, mine worked straight out the box, unlike my mono trial which needed bedding in:(
liam-pantera
My brake is set up properly i own a bb5 wich pisses all over my bb7 , theres just no bite and alot of lex cuming from the brake and the caliper , and for my cable set up im using clarks teflon cable with teflon spray and a tetrko xtr copy lever. ive worn my brake in 4 times aswell by riding witht he break on and aplying water but it only stays sharp for 5 minuites and then it goes crappy again
basher
Well for a start off how long have you had it and have you give it long enough to bed in. 2ndly just read you bedded it in by riding round and pouring water on, bad idea i would say it can easily glaze over your pads and from friends expeirences they always have to pour water on it at begining of a ride when they have bedded it in that way. Ruff up your pads and let it bed in by itself be patient it took my pads when i changed them a week to bed in. Once its bedded in properly it should be great and alot better than a bb5. Bb5's have a smaller pad about half size so naturally the bb7 is a better brake. But by bedding it in how you have i should think that is the problem. Also if you havnt had it long you need to let it bed in the disc properly. As disc brakes work on the fact everything is smooth so the disc is smooth and this takes time for the disc to smooth out and bed in. Dan6061
Why would Tarty' sell the road BB7's?I think the road ones have a shorter arm. - Less leverage.
Dan Clark
I'm pretty sure road levers pull less/more cable than v brake levers, so the road BB7 is adjusted for that.
Greetings
I have no idea what the internal difference is. Got the Road for spare parts, but decided to go in a different direction and am selling both bb7's now. The calipers are identical, the arms are identical too. The only difference is the position in which the arm rests - it's closer to the fixed part through which the cable goes through.
liam-pantera
Sorted now guys , my mbuk came this morning and cleared up the difference , basicly the road bb7 has a different arm position to be used with non linear brake leavers for example bmx and road . il keep trying to wear it in if not theres gonna be a bb7 for sale .
