Basically I'm building up a pc for around £225, self build, including monitor.....managed to get this spec and i think its the best value for money i can build for that price...

Don't buy new...simply. At the minute a lot of people have gotten over the 'Core2 Duo' stage and are updating like mad...Keep an eye on Ebay for a lot of bargins.

What is the computer going to be used for exactly?

(Also, a note with the monitor....pretty much promised to have dead pixels...if that bothers him?)

Well, internet and basic media, e.g cd burning, dvd watching etc....but he wants something that wont need replacing for a while so i specced it pretty high##

I need to add the case and psu onto the price, and ive got cables at home

It's quite unlikely to have dead pixels, I have a HannsG and it's alright. Although I wouldn't have a 17" widescreen, if I had to get 17" it'd be 4:3.
