spode@thinkbikes
can someone explain to me the difference of the rules today?Well, certainly as far as EBTC is concerned they haven't changed. It was given to me on DVD to put online, as a guide for observers. I'm not really "up" on the Worlds etc. to know what has changed. I'm sure one of the more serious competers can fill you in! MadManMike
What makes me laugh is how people take one foot off and drag the bike up. I know it's the rules but if you can't get up it on the bike why bother? Where's the fun in dragging your bike up looking stupid?
chimpanzyyyy
it's trial comp...why trying to sidehop up 60"wall every time and tuck as f**k just to look cool??? because they like it...and what the point to ride a trial bike like a bmx?the point in comp is to finish the section...not to look cool...it's just different to the street...other world, other rulesand the best you are...the less you dab

Where's the fun in dragging your bike up looking stupid? There are a lot of tactics involved in competition trials - it's not just about one off moves. Choosing the best route and knowing when to use your dab is vital. If there is a 50/50 chance that you won't make that move and get a 5 by falling backwards - why risk it? Take a 1 and finish on a lower score. If you're worried about looking stupid in front of people, then yeah, comp trials might not be for you. If your the king of the street, you might find yourself at the bottom of the scoreboard, with onlookers watching. But most people seem to find a way to cope with it
