Jonny Jones
Downloading the ones you suggested at the moment! Im interested to see what the quality is like from the Canon camera, ive seen these on camcorderinfo.com but Ive not seen any impressive footage, just some messing around stuff from the demo stand at the camera/broadcast show in the states. Greetings
Really interested in how these semi professional Canons are like. I'm not at all happy with my HV20 even though camcorderinfo thought highly of it. Will edit when downloaded, can't wait.
Jonny Jones
I'm not at all happy with my HV20 even though camcorderinfo thought highly of it.Thats odd! Guy who was on my Uni course told me that a camera man in the states bought three HV20's after selling his bigger HD camera (cant remember which one it was) purely because they recorded 720p. At least I think thats what my mate said! But yeah, ive always thought the Canon's were just XM2's with the HDV codec machine added! We shall see! Vids are still downloading haha! Jonny Jones
Just watched both videos! The urban one in Milan (Milano is Milan right?) was mint, great riding and some crazy editing haha. The other one where all the rocks were was good but didn't have a lot of pace, but still good to see everything in HD. Dunno why but I was expecting better visual quality from the Canon. BUT im putting that down to the fact that the videos were obviously compressed web versions of the edits you did. Good work though, cheers for sharing! Spina-Pazza
thanks guy!!!the rider isn't Policante...the name is the same (francesco) but his surname is Rolleri! Rolleri is a bit under policante.all video has recorded in manual mode......shutter time (for chiuduno all in 1/1600; Milano various...many light condition...), exposure, gain, iris, focus (only in 5 shot), (no white balance...ni daylight canon work very well!!!). tha camera it's great...if you have in mind to buy a professional camera like XH-A1 or better...forget the automatic mode!!!! or buy a consumer camera in HD like JVC. professional camera work right in manual mode and with many setting adjust at your preferences. there are 20 advanced setting to have the correct color, black and white level, point, ecc....if you use the XH-A1 without use those setting the result is worse than automatically use a consumer camera.the hv'20 have the progressive mode...isn't better for sport video...i prefeer interlaced mode (50i canon). i use the 25f on my camera (25F...like 25P...) only for not sport video, or for static scenes with little movements and many colors.BTW...i hope you see the video not only for watch the HD quality!!!Thanks again!!!!Claudio. An_toin3
Those of you who are actually able to watch it without it moving frame by frame.. what kind of computer do you have ? or i should ask what's your graphic card.. I think that my geforce fx 5200 128mb is getting too old for this hd footage ! would really like to watch this vid ! Jonny Jones
I just played it in VLC, QuickTime was having none of it, worked fine - but I did have to shrink the frame slightly to fit on my 20" widescreen monitor (not HD res). Greetings
Well, the quality was absolutely amazing. So much better than my Canon I was actually surprised there would be such a difference, not in definition which seems to be fairly similar but in coping with difficult lighting and over exposure. As for the editing, it went well with the music but I didn't like it. One would like to see certain moves that weren't split into 5 different shots. So yeah, not exactly practical editing because you couldn't really see the riding.
basher
That milano video is fooking mint loved the riding and editing. Liked your video aswell but wasnt to keen on the editing but non the less a cracking video. And the quality is bloody mint.

Spina-Pazza
there's not a "dedicate" codec for HD....not for play only. the video is compressed in MPG2 standard...the only difference is the resolution (1440X1080) & size.If you see the video slowly...it's an hardware problem...the video is too big.i can/you can convert the video in AVI format....the AVI format isn't compressed and the player/computer have less difficoult to read it. but the HD video come down from the camera already compressed in MPG...then decompress the video it's a contradiction!!!Bye! baladi
If you see the video slowly...it's an hardware problem...the video is too big.the hardware is a Intel core 2 Duo. that cant be the problem
