Hi guys

recently after having wasted hours and hours and pints of blood because of my 74kings i have decided to go back to a derailer , so now i was wondering wich one would be most suited for trials .

i would also like to know if i should go with short cage or long , and also i dont have enough money for a rohlf tensioner so i need something with alota spring in it thanks guys :) .

Don't give up on tensioners just yet , especially if you don't intend to run any gears as a well set up tensioner is considerably lighter and more resistant to knocks than most derailleurs . Just realise that a tensioner will never work well out of the box , but with some careful adjstment to ensure it works with your choice of chain and sprocket , they can do wonders .

Get a short caged sram X-7 or 9.

better than shitmano as they dont bounce about like f**k as the spring system is totally different.

You are right about that si-man , ive tried the spring system on a sram x9 before and i quite liked it . Also if your main arm breaks off you can use the first cog as a tensioner just like neil tunnicliffe used to .

Checked my bank and im going to have to buy a rolhf and hope there as good as people say they are , thankyou to everyone that has replied and if the rolhf fails im going to buy a shimano sora super short mech .
