i am completely addicted to assassin's creed it hasnt left my xbox since i bought it the day it came out i just love the free running aspect of it and there is nothing more fulfilling than assassinating a begger in the middle of a crowd then randomly killing guards.

wow reading that back i sound really twisted.........oh well

Fair enough, just going by what i read in a few reviews, I heard after a few levels it all gets repetetive and the jumping around n stuff is all just tapping a button and it does it for you etc..

it is true that the levels are repetetive but there are alot of other things to do in this game, and with the free running stuff once you get in to the game u get upgraded equipment which gives you more control over it. the worst part of the game is all the tutorials at the beginning.

but i suppose its like everything each to there own, but i would say it is at least worth renting.

Bioshock was really good, I really enjoyed it. Not quite as much as I enjoyed CoD4, but I could never just pick up and play. The story is quite complex and the missions require quite a bit of thought and planning. Only other thing is, towards the end of the game, the enemies get easier because you level up, but they don't seem too.

Anyway, it's pretty much a must for anyone with a 360...

Gers of War I never got into, short story, not many peopl online and just didn't live up the hype for me.

gars of war is entertaining but the graphics are a bit dark and dismal and its short, id suggesting setting aside a weekend to play it, renting it out and playing it solidly for them 2 days, completing it, job done.

the thing with gears of war, everythings really intuitive after a bit, apart from grenade throwing which is a total arse. all the time.

im currently a fan of buyin the old second hand games and playing them to death pes6 for £7, bargain gamage their(when you consider i dont play online, so cod4 is £40 for 8 hours gaming)

skates immense, although a bit frustratin when you try and tony hawk the first few hours of it, but once you get used to it, it just feels right, and theres a real sense of achievement when you land a sweet line, unlike in tony hawks when you know it was just button pressing.

i remember how poor i was at the start of skate, struggled for ages to do 400 point lines etc, wherease now everythings natural and real easy. it is an easy ish game to complete(for me it was anyway, although a lot of people seem to get to certain photo challenges and just get stuck) as soon as you get the hang of the controls, and timing etc. but i can still go on it and just skate around for a bit having fun(unlike tony hawks, where its every goal and job done)

crackdowns a right good game for its bargain bin price, i got it in a deal with my 360 in march, it kept me entertained for weeks, and ive seen it some places for £12.99.

if your hard up, i wouldnt worry about buyin the latest games, theres so many classics you can waste hours and hours on(also check out xbox live marketplace(free with silver membership) and play some of the demos, youll see whether you like a game, and it will waste several hours of gaming)

Quoted for truth, skate. is awesome, and for the price you can buy Crackdown for, it's such a laugh, especially if you play it Co-Op...

Dave Mirra and Thrasher: Skate and Destroy were both spot on, they were similar in controls and graphics (same publisher), but they were actually realistic games, where Tony Hawk's missed the point as its possible to do insane numbers of spins on a ramp.

They were really good games to play.

PC I'm playing Test Drive Unlimited, which I think is brilliant.

And I think sometime I'm going to install Theme Hospital again, probably the most classic PC game ever.

Excludign the last 'mission' in the game, there are 9 assainations (boss levels) in 3 cities, all of which are interspersed with travelling and the same 5 sub missions with different dialogue. So yes, it does get quite repetitive. And the freerunning is indeed holding LT + A and tilting the analogue stick to the direction you want to go.

Play Skate on PS3 at my mates all the time.

My god it's a good game! So realistic...well, more than Tony Hawks.

Not everywhere is skate-able, and you have to ollie up kerbs etc..which can get annoying.

Played Assasins Creed aswell, and that game's immense! Graphics are outstanding.

New NeedForSpeed's pretty good too. Got it on PS2. (Y)

"streets of rage" on the mega drive! ;)

I remember acidently pressing the 'A' button, was the most annoying thing.

I also remember me and mate having manual competitions when it was wet outside, instead of on the actual bikes.

Colin mcrae DiRT is awesome, such a fun game to play... especially if you have a steering wheel. Only downside is you can't save your replays, meaning some of the best crashes you'll ever see will be just a memory.

Bioshock is quite interesting to play, until you realize that theres no consequence to dieing so you can just keep running up to the hardest enemies hit them with a spanner, die, re spawn and proceed to do it over and over again until you finally kill him. The scenery is nice though and its fun playing in the vastly imaginative environments but thats about all its got going for it.

Crysis looks phenomenal, if you have a computer that can run it on high settings you'll be blown away. It really is that immense. The storyline is pretty generic but still remotely interesting and aside from a few issues with being randomly resource hogging in places it has enough imagination to keep you playing through it. One of the kind of games where you start playing and just can't stop, but you go downstairs when its finished and you realize its 8.00am and you've been playing solidly since lunchtime the day before.

Dark messiah of might and magic is another game thats got an imaginative story and immersive environment with some unique game playing styles letting you choose a multitude of different ways to play the game, giving everyone a different and hopefully good experience. Some of the battles with big enemies really do fill you with a sense of panic and fear as you fight them.

crysis was too short and too easy, but I love the gameplay and graphics (shooting trees down is awesome)

Far cry still stands as the best game I ever owned!

Definately agree with you there. I played it through first time on delta and it was far too easy. Especially compared to the "realistic" mode in far cry. The developers have gone down the half life 2 route and are making crysis as a trilogy. They're already in development of the second part of the game.

yea i love dirt, but theres not enough rallying in it, too much buggy, raid and truck racing for me. also one thing that will really bug you once you find out about it(right now if you dont already see it) the cars turn on a central pivot.

also once you get the pug/citreon 4wd rally cars, all the 4wd rallies get to easy. also some of its infuriating annoying, classic 4wd australia is just so annoying, the lighting makes it proper hard to see and theres too many trees, must of done those stages in the classic impreza 30 times before i got it right.

Yea might rent after xmas.

Anyone got any experinces with bioshock and gears of war?

I completed Bioshock on PC and I loved it. Probably the best game I have ever completed for PC, if not in general. I have Crysis, I love this game too. Both Bioshock and Crysis are very immersive. I think Need for Speed Most Wanted and Pro Street are pretty good, fun factor is nice. Team Fortress 2 is an amzing game, one of my all time favourite online games, so so so much fun, Enemy Territory Quake Wars, Timeshift and Hellgate London are all good too. Not amazing, just good. I also enjoyed Tomb Raider Anniversary a lot, good gameplay and levels. Portal and Half Life 2:Ep2 are really good. In fact the whole orange box from valve is really good. My favourite game at the moment is Unreal Tournamant 3 though, I cant get enough of the super fast gameplay and nice new graphics. A classic made better. As you can probably tell, when it comes to gaming Im a PC nerd. :)

call of duty 4 on the 360 is one of the best games if played in a long time and I would say it is a better game then halo 3 cus it has a longer life span and the online gameplay is the same as the offline.

I think that if you have a xbox360 and like shoot em ups you should have call of duty 4.

I give it 10/10.

Mass Effect is awesome if you're into ActionRPGs, if you're not, it's not really going to to do much for you. If you ever played Knights Of The Old Republic, then it's just like that, with prettier graphics in a different galaxy.

However, it was probably one of my favourite games of 2007 and I really enjoyed it, not much replay value for me though.
