matt rushton
Ok I'm building a Bike up for a friend. So I don't want to break anything. So the Thing is it's a Try all BB in a XTP2 and i can't get it out because of two stupid cup things. Because my bb Tool won't go over them.So it cant't grip onto the spline, to undo it. So do these little cup things come off?? And if they do how??They are the little greeny coloured bits on the spline in at side of the cups that go into the frame. Thanks Matt Rushton Edited October 12, 2007 by matt rushton
Waynio
yes, put a left or right hand crank on, then use pliers or (preferably) mole grips to grip the one your planning on taking off (do the driveside, therefore you only have to take one off then )wiggle it, just a little bit and it will come off. then the left hand cup will come off easy peasy.Wayne. James Quigley
put the crank on the opposite side to what your trying to pull off. That way you have something to hold while you're trying to pry the green bit off.
NVWOCI WVS
get a pair of mole grips on the spacer, but not too tightlyotherwise you'll cruch it on to the axel and then put the opposite crank arm on to stop the axel turning. you can then twist the spacer to loosen it then pull it off.
