trials_pimp Posted October 12, 2007 Report Share Posted October 12, 2007 Right, Windows XP was a bust, so I got Vista.Instlled ok, runs, but when I try and install my Motherboard drivers (so I can install my sound card, USB/fire wire card and Graphics card) all I get is "failed to fix security"Wont autorun, just comes up with that in a box with that in, and it wont let me manually instal the drivers from the disc.What do I do? Nick Dale Posted October 13, 2007 Report Share Posted October 13, 2007 Right click - run as adminstrator...ORYou could use the real admin account.1- Click Start, and type “secpol.msc” in the search area and click Enter.2- You may receive a prompt from UAC, approve/login and proceed.3- In the left list, choose “Local Policies”, then “Security Options”4- Set “Accounts: Administrator account status” to Enabled.5- Set “User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator account” to Disabled.6- Now log-off, and you’ll see a new account named “Administrator” will be available, click on it to login.Also disable UAC..1. Click on the Start button and type in secpol.msc and hit Enter.2. Expand Local Policies and then Security Options.3. Scroll to the bottom and locate "User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode".4. Right click on this setting and select Properties.5.
