james266
How do Hayes HFX 9 disc brakes hold up for trials stuff. I got an old pair from my Downhill rig and am considering putting them on the trails bike Im building. Ill be getting smaller rotors though as the ones I have are 203mm Any thoughts? Tomm
No, they're terrible brakes on a DH/XC bike. Ever worse for trials as they have no bite or hold at all. Sell them and buy maguras.

chrisbikefix
i have to say, if you replace the standard plastic pistons with metal ones .. and get some goodridge pads .. they normally work alot better. I do alot of these piston upgrades at my work, and it seems to do the trick! Avid juiceys work well, im tryin a new xtr on my trials bike atm ... seems to work well!
