Lloyd B
Looking to buy a new front disc as i am currently learning to gap to front wheel but i dont have alot to spend. im hopeing to get a bb7 but i wasnt sure if there was any difference in proformance between the bb5 and the bb7 ive heard the bb5 is just as powerfull as the bb7, but the bb7 is easier to set up. some of you mite have more experience with discs than me. cheers
Adam-Griffin
As far as i am aware they are the very similar power wise but however the BB7 has more modulation and adjustability than the BB5Adam

basher
The bb7 has 2 pad adjusters, the bb5 has 1. Also the bb5 has a smaller pad meaning less brakeing surface so the brake won't be as powerful. Never used a bb5 meself as i use bb7. The Velcro Fly
I've just built a couple of mountain bikes with BB7's and found them very easy to fit and tremedous for stopping !!. Try sourcing from ebay if you don't want to pay the full price.
