Stem For New Pure 07?

Rebelistic

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've just got my new 07 Pure built up and it seems pretty good however I'm unsure about my stem.

I just fitted a 105mm 5 degree rise (I think) stem and I think my bars feel too low.

The bike has a BB rise of 35mm so I guess I need one of those long high rise stems to give me more room. I've just switched from my old Pure with a zero BB rise and my lower back aches a bit after a few hours riding.

Can anyone recommend a good stem for this style of frame?

Cheers,

(Y)

just because it has a bb rise doesnt necessarily mean you have to have a longer stem, you can always run spacers under the current stem you have. with a bb rise yes a higher front end is good to counter the bb rise but, running spacers is a good idea ali c did it with his czar and that rides sexy. If not get something like the pazzaz stem 120x17 that should be nice. but stems are a very personal thing so its hard to say.

Cheers, Yeah I've already put quite a few spacers on - the bars are still on the low side though and beacase of the head angle the more spacers I put on the bars move closer to me, if you see what I mean.

I do Think it needs a new stem, just not sure what as I picked the 105x5 based on the chart on tartybikes for this BB rise.

Simtra re-stem feels shit hot on the new pures...

Or you could try the echo 130x15 (same deg rise but slightly longer reach)

Edit: I run that echo stem on my Czar (almost identical geo)

i completely agree, the pazzaz stems seem to work on any bike too though
