balfa
Finding frames which i'm comfortable on is difficult being 6'4. I get by on a 1075 Pure but am tempted to try something even longer.High BB frames make the cockpit shorter so am guessing a low BB bike around 1100 might fit nicely. Problem is there is not many around.Suggestions?Any experience from other tall riders appreciated.
eskimo
A Koxx might see you right if you don't want a high bottom bracket.
hugh_b
i'm just over 6ft and i ride a limey 2, thats spot on for me and i'm sure you'll suit it just fine too. the new koxx coust is long on paper but doesnt feel like a long bike when you ride one, possibly because of the silly height bb. NVWOCI WVS
just because you're tall it does mean you necesarily need a long frame. im over 6ft and i much prefer shorter wheelbase bikes, i even found a short 04 echo pure longer than i like. im now on a monty 231, the old school one and i love the way it rides with a zoo stem (100mmx5*) and Monty bars.the bar and stem you use might make more of a difference than you realise! Suits me just fine and everyone comments on how long it is.

AdamR28
Limeys are only 1085Don't worry about the wheelbase, look at the 'reach' of the frame, from the head tube to the BB shell. This will determine how far apart your contact points on the bike are, which is where the 'length' becomes apparent. Don't forget to take into account the stem too, that makes a huge difference, perhaps more than the frame... The Pure is a short 'reach' frame, the head angle is quite slack. basher
BT RAVen5.0Crazy good frameThats true they ride amazing. limey should fit you really well, or the old new coust the one thats black not the glittery new one, sure that has a small bb and big wheelbase. I think the limey may be your best option and if you do want a bigger wheelbase on it then may be try using toxin forks or onza ones with the large rake. Also have you considered the toxin 2 i think it is, have a look at that and see what you think.

Thus making the difference. Suprising how much difference 5mm on the bb will make to the frame.

Suprising how much difference 5mm on the bb will make to the frame. The difference between the Czar and Pure is because of the head angle.Base/Limey difference is because the Base has a lower BB and a very steep head angle. casualjoe
it seems like headtube length plays a part in the overall cockpit room of a frame with similar geo Edited October 7, 2007 by casualjoe
Fixed Pantsâ„¢
Tall_Rob on the forum has a Simtra ST1 dual disc, he's about 6.4/5 i think (he's very sexy too), i'm sure he gets on nicely with it.Alternatively get a mod stem. manuel
if its cockpit room your after - id suggest an old long pure .....example - centre centre measurement of an A1 long 07 = 675 mm my SHORT 04 pure = 685 mm - thanks to a pretty much 0 bb and 12 cm headtube (1065ish , 72ish ht, 385stays).so get a long one - should give you even more reach, and a nice comfy riding position - not hunched up and low ......oh and anyone who doubts the geo - watch an old tra vid and say its shit. plus they will be cheap (maybe hard to find i guess) have a seat, probably lighter than dengs current cnc lumps, and better still - come in Vee mount.
