Has anybody tried one and in he has did he like it how it works or does it work at all, because I have one with an Adamant hub and it is absolutely horrible...I mean I make one pedal stroke and the chain is loosen again because of its movement. I don't know whether I am an idiot or it really doesn't work.

Please tell me your opinion, because personally I'm confused

I wondered about them. So they aren't used with a spring then? My mate pointed out the big "no no" about them which really really put me off, the arm is alloy and irraplacable, therefore £70 down the drain. Plus i'm really loosing interest in anything Deng at the moment apart from my frame.

That's good to hear but you do say 'so far'.

Is it true the freehubs are going out of production?

No, they already have, as have external bbs.

Edit: Oh and the built in tensioners are good, you just slide them over the axel, when you tighten the wheel, they fix in place. Perfect chain tension, and replaceable if deng decides to sell them separately.

Back to external BBs... No idea why they've stoped producing them, what happened to the needle bearing half external one?

Wouldn't lose sleep over it mate, hope make a similar sort of thing now.

Edit:

they had deng patent cheese bearings (Y)

Mate, what is the big everything deng is made of 'cheese' argument about? Last time I checked, 9 out of 10 people on this forum run deng parts. Whats wrong with them? Can you suggest a better brand? With as much variety?

yeah, but hope will use ball bearing grade stainless steel, not cheap asian scrap iron

i have nothing against deng, infact i have some echo forks and some ever deng stuff. it's just the bearings dont last 5 minutes in any of the moving deng parts and thats talking from personal experience and experiences of friends.

Ok I guess I should change the title External Echo BBs now :D

I changed the tensioner it just doesn't make the tension good. It doesn't use a spring it is just tightened with two bolts - one on the tensioner that tightens it for the axle and the hub one which tightens it to the frame, but it's just two kicks tension and then no tension at all.....

I was thinking of how and where to put a spring on it and if someone has any ideas please tell, cause it really looks cool ;) So fare I figured that if it is tightened to the hanger from the other side it works fine and it has some space to move freely.

Because apart from the frames and this years rims most stuff is shit. Its under tested and rushed into production, and as for vareity its all the same thing but cnc'ed alittle different.

Does it sit on the inside of the frame or the outside? Does Neil Tunniclife use one with a spring? looks like a pretty good tensioner, as you don't heav the chain. Same with the 74 Kings.

believe it sits on the inside of the frame on the axel and doesnt have a spring

I'm using the Echo hub/tensioner set up on my Zoot and so far am really liking it. When I put the wheel in I pinch the bolts up to get the wheel in the right place then push the tensioner down while I do the bolt up properly. Hasn't slipped once and the only slack created is because the chain's new and is stretching a little. Nice. Simple. Works.
