blaze_ Posted October 3, 2007 Report Share Posted October 3, 2007 Has anybody tried one and in he has did he like it how it works or does it work at all, because I have one with an Adamant hub and it is absolutely horrible...I mean I make one pedal stroke and the chain is loosen again because of its movement. My mate pointed out the big "no no" about them which really really put me off, the arm is alloy and irraplacable, therefore £70 down the drain. Perfect chain tension, and replaceable if deng decides to sell them separately.Back to external BBs... Last time I checked, 9 out of 10 people on this forum run deng parts. Whats wrong with them? Can you suggest a better brand? With as much variety? With as much variety?i have nothing against deng, infact i have some echo forks and some ever deng stuff. it's just the bearings dont last 5 minutes in any of the moving deng parts and thats talking from personal experience and experiences of friends. blaze_ Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Share Posted October 4, 2007 Ok I guess I should change the title External Echo BBs now I changed the tensioner it just doesn't make the tension good. It doesn't use a spring it is just tightened with two bolts - one on the tensioner that tightens it for the axle and the hub one which tightens it to the frame, but it's just two kicks tension and then no tension at all.....I was thinking of how and where to put a spring on it and if someone has any ideas please tell, cause it really looks cool So fare I figured that if it is tightened to the hanger from the other side it works fine and it has some space to move freely. monkeyseemonkeydo Posted October 5, 2007 Report Share Posted October 5, 2007 I'm using the Echo hub/tensioner set up on my Zoot and so far am really liking it. When I put the wheel in I pinch the bolts up to get the wheel in the right place then push the tensioner down while I do the bolt up properly.
